Thousands of people have lost their jobs across the nation with many more businesses on the verge of shutting down.

It however seems government at various levels across the nation has decided to admire the glaring challenges facing the people rather than proffer solutions.

The F.G. has decided to gallantly fight corruption forgetting that the citizens are in serious economic quagmire. Corruption is a cancer that has seriously affected our nation but we cannot afford to fold our arms at the gloomy state of the economy while we fight corruption.

As of 2014, CNNMONEY named Nigeria as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, today; Nigeria is nowhere near one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. The Economic Outlook for 2016 has named Cote d’Ivoire as one of the fastest growing economies in Africa.

As of 2010- 2011, there was a serious political crisis in Cote d’Ivoire that led to loss of lives after a disputed election. According to the World Bank, the people of Cote d’Ivoire has benefitted immensely from government policies and structural reforms which have resulted in strong inclusive growth, strong economic activity has been maintained through a strong aggregate demand and increase in investment both within the public and private sector.

Rwanda, a nation that came out of genocide a few years ago has one of the fastest growing economies in Africa today; World Bank placed Rwanda as the 2nd easiest country to do business in Africa. It is easier to get credit to start a business in Rwanda than any African country.

Tanzania is another African wonder of the year; the country has been consistent in making important economic decisions, structural reforms and sustains the economic growth rate. The government is creatively minimizing over spending by cutting cost of unnecessary government spending.

No matter what our challenges are in Nigeria, there are nations that have gone through worse conditions and are still growing; we have no excuse to keep our citizens poor. Nigeria as the professed giant of Africa must endeavour to creatively solve our economic woes.

We must stop paying lip service to diversification; we must prioritize and spend wisely. Government at all levels must block all wastages that are taking our resources and distinctively create more sources of income generation.

With our creative and patriotic population, the government has all the ingredients it needs to work with in order to return the lost glory of Nigeria, become a global, political and economic giant.

We must begin to think and solve our problems internally as we endeavour to only elect responsible, tested and trusted folks in to political offices and show them the way out when they misbehave.

Citizens must remain politically active, comment, commend, critique and advice when necessary on policies of government. We must speak loud and always act right.

Nigeria shall become the most desirable country to live in on the planet earth.

God bless you.

God bless Nigeria.
