Donald Trump’s Foreign Policy Speech

by Emmanuel Omoh Esiemokhai

Donald Trump should fire his Foreign Policy team after reading this piece. The reasons for this are as follows.

In International relations, foreign policies are guided by State ideology and International Law.

International Law is the universally acknowledged legal system that regulates international relations and foreign policy. Diplomatic relations are regulated by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and Consular matters are regulated by the Consular Convention of 1963.

The Law of Treaties and other treaties and other principles of International Law cannot be violated without serious consequences. Powerful America must obey International Laws. It can be recalled that President Bush’s lack of deep knowledge of International law led him to attack Iraq without a formal declaration of War in violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which forbid the intervention of states against the territorial integrity and the political independence of other states.

Not obeying this legal recommendation is responsible for the crisis in the Middle East and elsewhere. Trump did not refer to the United Nations Organization and America’s attitude to the UN Security Council. Using strong language instead of diplomatic language will only exacerbate rancorous discourses and international tension.

His total omission of stating his Africa policy is myopic and incredulous. Arrogance of power by a successful business mogul will not be very helpful in a world in which anti-Christ human and spiritual agents are fanning the embers of world tumult. When Adolf Hitler rose to power through racist and vitriolic speeches, the world looked on. Trump is on the same path.

There are many international legal prescriptions Trump must abide by before he can make America “great again”.  To criticize Obama presidency is trite politics and cannot be taken seriously by anyone who has looked at the evidence.

Donald Trump did not harp on a winning strategy that would make him win in November.  He once promised to balance the US budget in eight years, in his second term!

Many people did not believe Donald.  I did and still do. When I had a dream on April 1, 2016, I had a good conversation with Donald Trump, which went like this.  Mr. Trump, by what magical conjuration will you balance the US budget in eight years? I asked Donald.

Professor, I will turn our military bases in Guam, Okinawa, Heidelberg Germany, our NATO outfits and turn them into World Scientific Technological Development Centres.  Instead of wearing uniforms, soldiers will wear white apron, sitting behind research desks.

With the money, America will get from their work; America will not spend billions in policing the world, which has not worked in Vietnam, North Korea, Indo China, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and elsewhere.

“We must re-think our spending spree America.”  We shall plough our overseas expenditures to improve America n infrastructure, empower the feral underclass in America, who live off drugs, violence and prostitution. Then America will be great again.

I wished Donald good luck if he survives Republican Party chicanery and political machinations to stop him. We prayed together for God to forgive the presidential candidate who supported the invasion of Iraq and Syria.

After our conversation, I said to Herr Donald Trump, “Gutun tag, Aufvidesehen Viel Gluck. Herr Trump, replied, Danke Schon. Ich bedanke mich sehr.
